Siuslaw joined our herd with
her maternal sister, Paladin, this winter. We have long admired the
Alder*Rose herd and Siuslaw's dam, Metolius, is a wonderful example of
the depth of quality in this herd. Metolius has a beautiful mammary
system and a striking profile. Granddam Jesuit is appraised 92
EEEE and has produced several outstanding daughters in the Alder*Rose
herd. Siuslaw is sired by Kastdemur's Watch Yourself who has sired
so many Excellent daughters in his life.
We look forward to watching
this beautiful kid mature. She is very correct and stylish and we can't
wait to get her in the show ring this coming summer.
Siuslaw did not disappoint
when she freshened in May. She is tall, level and correct with a
beautiful mammary. Her fore udder is long and smoothly attached and she
has a high, wide rear udder with a very correct escutcheon.
Siuslaw is very immature and will develop into a big girl as she
matures. We are excited about this young doe. Out of the 6X shown
she was 4X 1st yearling milker among some strong competition.
Despite several attempts, we
were unable to get Siuslaw bred so she has milked through since her
yearling freshening. We considered showing her, as she was still milking
well, but didn't feel it was fair to her at over 15 months fresh.
Siuslaw has matured a lot over the past year and milked very well
throughout her 1st lactation. She is incredibly correct and we are
looking forward to seeing her in milk next spring.
Siuslaw will be bred to
Alibi for February kids. 1st doeling will be
retained.
